Millennium Snow

The plot: The story is centered on sweet, but deathly ill seventeen-year-old Chiyuki. As a child, because of her heart condition, it was said she wouldn't live to be fifteen (basically it's a miracle that's she's lived this long.) One day, she meets eighteen-year-old Touya Kano (a vampre that can't stand the sight or smell of blood.) It is tradition for a vampire of eighteen, to find a human partner to live for a thousand years, but he would have to drink blood. Wanting to take the position as partner, Chiyuki tries to persuade him, but it hasn't worked.

I found this book in a store the other day and I immediately picked up, interested. I bought mainly because it's the same creator of Ouran High School Host Club (That and it's about vampires.) So, I've only read half of the series and I'm on the look out for the last volume (There's only two manga books.) Anyway, here's my thoughts:

On the positive side, I liked the moral of the idea about what if you lived practically forever. I thought it well done that way. Then, I liked the character Touya. I thought he made a very good vampire.

On the other hand, I thought the plot was too much like Full Moon Wo Sagashite and Twilight mixed together. Then, the character Satsuki Akiyoshi got on my nerves a little bit. Then, I thought the triangle between Touya/Chiyuki/Satsuki was too much like Twilight for me. I liked the series though. Then, the artwork was not as soft as Ouran, but she could've done better.

I give this a three out of five.

Shugo Chara!

I had heard of how great Shugo Chara! is a little while ago. I was interested to find out more about it. I haven't seen all the episodes or manga books. Anyway, here's my thoughts on the series.

For one, the plot was excellent! It's very different. The artwork is also very good. I really like the style. Then, the heroine of the series, Amu Hinamori, was very different most heroines. For example, Amu was very feisty, grumpy, and cynical (The polar opposite. Which was nice.)

On the other hand, I wasn't crazy with the character Tadase Hotori. There was something about him that I just didn't like. Then, for the anime, I thought it was a little slower than the manga.

All in all, I would give this a four out five.

The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya

The plot: Kyon is a freshman boy who only wishes for a normal high school life. Well, that wish doesn't come true when he meets Haruhi Suzumiya. A girl who wishes for her life to be filled with aliens, time travelers and espers. Tired of not finding any clubs that are paranormal centered, Haruhi starts the S.O.S brigade, a club that deals with the supernatural. Kyon, much to his chargin, gets dragged in the club, along with others. And, thus begin this wacky, but charming series.


I have heard very much about how good Haruhi Suzumiya is. And I thought I could try it to see if it was to my taste, and I have to say that it has rendered me almost speechless. Because of the chaotic conflict that goes on. Anyway, here's my thoughts on the series.

First of all, I thought this was a very unique series. That's the best trait about the series. I loved the artwork. It certainly makes you wonder what will happen next? Then, I liked Haruhi. I thought, even though she was made out to be a bit spoiled, I thought she made an interesting character.

On the other hand, the first episode was very confusing. It was mainly there for comedic reasons (Not to say I didn't like it.) But, if someone were to miss it and go to the second episode, you wouldn't really miss anything. Then, it's a little confusing. If you miss an episode, you feel like you missing a big portion of the series.

All in all, I would give this a three out of five.

Ouran High School Host Club

I had started this unusual, but charming series before the new year at school started. I have watched all of the episodes, but haven't read the manga books, yet. Anyway, here's my thought on Ouran High School Host Club:

For one, I was impressed with the plot. I also liked the artwork in the anime. I liked the heroine in the series, Haruhi Fujioka. I thought it was interesting to see a young woman dress up as a boy and go to a special school, just so she can become a lawyer (the school only allowed men to go the school for free, if they were poor.) And, I also liked how Haruhi was very independent. It was a nice change. I also liked the main male protagonist in the series, Tamaki Souh (Who I've heard isn't the most popular character.) I thought it was interesting to see that Tamaki's personality was very different from most men in shoujos. Usually, the men would be dark, bad tempered, and grumpy. Where as, Tamaki was very naive, caring, almost the complete opposite, basically. Which was very nice.

On other hand, the artwork for the manga was too soft. I couldn't almost see it. Then, I thought
the character, Hunny, I thought he was too much like Momiji Sohma from Fruits Basket, that it wasn't original.

Well, all in all, I would give this series a four out of five.

Pita Ten

I had started this series a long time ago, when I visited a book store. And here's my thoughts:

For one, the art was fantastic (It's the same creator of Kamichama Karin.) The plot was cute. I really liked how she had the sixth grader, Koutaro Higuchi, have the ability to see angels and demons. It made it interesting to see how a little boy would handle a supernatural situation. Then, I liked the energetic, and caring Misha and the gentle but sad Shia. I thought those two characters really made the show interesting. And, the ending was really good, but a little sad.

On the other hand, Misha's baby talk was a little too strange (Even though she's in middle school.)
Then, I found it strange that all the elementary kids were more mature, than the older kids. Then, it got silly whenever Misha would start hugging Koutaro (which was constantly), his friend Koboshi, would get very jealous and angry. Also, it took Koutaro four volumes of the manga to figure out that Misha was an angel. I thought that part was kind of dragged out a little.

Well, I give it a four out of five.

Kamichama Karin

I started to read this series when I turned thirteen a few years ago, after I finished reading Pita Ten. I have seen a few episodes of this series, but not much. Anyway, here's my thoughts on the series:

For one, the artwork is beautiful! I'm impressed! The plot was good. I liked how the creator used gods and goddesses. It kept me interested. Then, I was interested in the heroine of the series, Karin Hanazono. Because, she was different from most girls: shy, tends to cry a lot, hyper, and not-the-smartest. I liked how she was different that way. Then, as this series was a parody, I liked how the creator had Kazune be overly sexist (Not to say I'm not a feminist. I am.) but, because the creator is making fun at how some heros are being sexist. And the humor had me laughing hysterically.

On the hand, the romantic scenes in the story were very silly (Although, some were cute.) The secret towards the end of season one, was odd, and made no sense. Then, the second season was not to my taste. Because of the new character, pop star Jin was there to make Kazune jealous was also not to my taste. I just didn't like it, as much as season one.

All in all, I'd give it a three out of five.

Sugar Sugar Rune

I got the beginning of this anime, a few years ago. And, these are my thoughts:

First, the artwork was poorly done. I was not impressed. The plot was wasn't to my taste either. I wasn't interested that two witches took human's heart and the more they got, the closer the closer they were to becoming queen. Then, fact that the author used witches, it just made the story a little boring (After watching Harry Potter, you get easily tired of witches/wizards.) I would recommend this to someone who was still into witches and wizards, and really lkes romance.

I'd give it a one out of five.
