I happened upon Earl and Fairy one day, as I was bored, surfing YouTube for fun. And, I saw the there was a AMV, for Earl and Fairy (Although, I didn't even know what it was, at the time.) So, I watched it and decided to watch to see how I would like it. Well, I just recently finished the whole twelve episodes (Usually, I would be very disapointed that it lasted for such a short amount of time, but I think the series would've lost peoples' interest, if it kept going) and here's my thoughts on it.
For one, the plot was good. I liked how they've set the time frame to somewhere around the Victorian times and, how they've set in Europe. Also, I appreciated that the creator of Earl and Fairy obviously tried to make the show different from most. Also, I found it fun that everyone was introduced to the different types of fairies that came into the series (as short as it was) Then, I liked Lydia Carlton's character (the main heroine) she's independant and generous, but obviously insecure about herself (which, in my opinion, makes her more realistic.) The artwork was okay. The colors were pretty and elegant and the artists obviously put a lot of detail into the clothing.
On the other hand, there were a few things that kept reacurring that was okay at first, but quickly started to get old. For example, both male characters Kelpie and Edgar (he's the guy in the picture) kept endlessly trying to capture the heart of Lydia, who's made it clear to both of them that she's not interested. Then, even though Lydia keeps on refusing them, it's pretty obvious that she likes Edgar, but is constantly in self denial. Then, I found it very odd how Edgar looks and acts A LOT like Tamaki Souh from Ouran High School Host clubs.
Anyway, I would give this a three out of five.
